When he calls you by name

Imagine, your name is called but not by just anyone.  Not by family or friends but someone much higher.  You are called by the one who created the world and everything in it.  The one who knows everything, for whom time is but a blink of the eye, the one who surrended his only son and watched him pay the ultimate price.  The one who sent a saviour to enable us to come into his presence.  God called you and he called you by name.

He knows more about you than you do.  He knows your deepest desires even though you feel unsure.  He knows the path that will unfold for you even when you feel lost.  He knows that person who will enter your life and be your partner before you have even met them.  He knows.  He knows all.  Best of all, he knows that at exactly the right time, he will call you and you will listen.  There will come a time when you are ready to surrender to his way, his path and will kneel humbly in his presence.  He waits for that day when you open your heart, give your life to him and what he has planned for you.

God called me some years ago as a young teenager.  I made a commitment and looked forward to a life loving God.  Somewhere in amongst being married and raising children, life took over a little and I felt as though I was wandering in the wilderness.  Seven years ago, he started calling my name a little louder to get my attention again.  I listened but still let my personal desires lead rather than letting him.  Four years ago, he raised his voice and made me sit up and take notice.  He brought me to my knees.  One year ago, I realised that it had to be done in his strength, his timing and I needed to let go of the reigns.  So I handed over control to God.  Today, he confirmed his calling.  He has been preparing me for something bigger than I could ever imagine.  It's coming and it's coming soon.

Today I told him I am ready whenever he is.  I simply can't wait and I love hearing him call my name!

oh yes! love hearing your heart.... "We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves." @ 2 Cor 4:7
