You are falling, spinning out of control and the ground is fast approaching. You have no reigns to tighten to control, you are completely at the whim of of the wind and gravity. Scared but at the same time the feeling is exhiliarating, liberating and unbelievably good. The fresh air against your face makes you feel alive, the inability to control feels like freedom. Freedom to live, experience, scream or laugh. The sense of falling brings fear to the surface but you are not afraid, instead you are loving every minute of this ride.
There will always be raindrops in our lives. Days when the it is overwhelming and the need to withdraw from the world is ever present. Imagine that instead of fearing what was happening, you rode the drops of rain. You embraced what they mean for you. Instead of shutting down, you release the fears, worries and anxiety to the world. You roll when and where the rain rolls. You hang on for dear life knowing that when the rain reaches the ground, it stops and you are better for having experienced the ride.
Riding raindrops are our times of growth and it is when we discover how resilient and strong we are. We have no reason to fear what may be waiting for us when the raindrops stop for God has made us a promise. Jeremiah 9v11: "For I know what I have planned for you,' says the LORD. 'I have plans to prosper you, not to harm you. I have plans to give you a future filled with hope."
